CPR/Basic First Aid,  ACLS, PALS and  EMR Courses

Basic Life Support for the Community and Workplace

This 4-hour course is designed to teach citizens how to effectively perform CPR and use an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator).   Skills covered include CPR on all age groups (adults, children and infants) as well as techniques used to relieve choking. This is a hands-on class in which students will perform CPR techniques on mannequins positioned on the floor.

NOTE: This class is not adequate for healthcare providers or childcare providers.

Basic First Aid

This 4-hour course is designed to teach citizens how to effectively perform basic first aid. Knowledge and skills covered in the class prepare the student to handle both injuries and illnesses for all age groups (adults, children and infants). This is a hands-on class in which students will perform skills on simulated victims.

Basic Life Support (AHA)

This 4-hour course is designed to teach professional rescuers (EMT’s, Paramedics, Lifeguards, etc.) how to effectively perform CPR on all age groups (adult, child and infant). It covers 1- and 2-person techniques, bag valve mask use, AED use, etc. This is a hands-on class in which students will perform CPR techniques on mannequins positioned on the floor.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA)

ACLS is geared towards healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies or personnel in emergency response. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. This 4-hour course has a pre-requisite of a current BLS provider (AHA) course completion. This is a hands-on class in which students will perform skills on simulated victims.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA)

The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts. This 4-hour course has a pre-requisite of a current BLS provider (AHA) course completion. This is a hands-on class in which students will perform skills on simulated victims.

Emergency Medical Responder (Jones & Bartlett)

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course teach students how to provide prehospital care for patients with medical conditions and injuries. Students learn how to assess patients, handle medical emergencies, and stabilize them until they can be transported to a hospital. This EMR course also covers topics such as anatomy, physiology, and emergency medical services systems. This course is taught over several weeks and requires a minimum of 10 students.
